Feminism can be a good point to study Magaret Drabble＇s novel The Millstone. A series of rebellions of the heroin Rosamund against orthodoxy ideas and behaviors - edging out males into their peripheral status, and hence making them become ＂second sex＂ and ＂other people＂, substituting Eros with maternal love - connote the Drabble＇s special feminism. This shows that she is different either from a traditional female or a radical feminist. She stresses the mother＇s responsibility at the same time when she advocates the female independence.
