Following Cassirer's criticism on mythical thinking, Blumenberg further reflects on the ambiguity of aesthetic myth from a hermeneutic sense of justification, and reveals its value as 'remainings of the truth'. Also, based on modern aesthetic intellectual history, he criticizes the theory of freedom in aesthetic myth and presents us with an unprecedented and intriguing study of intellectual history, study of myth.
