The development of the tunes and troupes, as well as localization of the scripts all signal a new type of local drama is taking form. Zhunag＇s drama of Yunnan, staring from Daoguang period in the Qing Dynasty has witnessed lot of events, such as the founding of New China, destructive Cultural Revolution, sustainable development since the reform and opening policies and the present predicament, after going through Ming, Min Dynasty and anti-Japanese war. The ups and downs development is described in amounts of historical material.
