Corn silk polysaccharides are extracted from dry stylus and stigma of Zea mays L. For the many biological activities,corn silk polysaccharides are becoming more and more popular. The article has summarized the chemical compositions, pharmacological effects and extraction and purification progress of corn silk polysaccharides, in order to provide a basis to utilize adequately corn silk resources.
