A Summary of the Study of T.E. Lawrence' Letters

T.E.劳伦斯现存的五千多封书信大体分为家信、外交与军事、文学以及朋友之间的四类通信,它们展现了劳伦斯参与的军事、外交、文学、翻译、出版、考古、交游以及他所经历的时代风云与社会变迁的诸多方面。西方对劳伦斯书信研究的历史较长,但还没有较为系统、完整的成果面世,因而仍有深入研究的意义。

The 5000 letters in existence by T.E. Lawrence can be divided into four categories： home, diplomatic and military, literature and friends letters. They display the many aspects of the military, diplomacy, literature, translation, publication, archaeology and the time and society Lawrence engaged in. Though the study of his letters in the west last very long, a systematic, comprehensive study is still in short and a further significant one is called for.
