摘要
针对操本族语英语教师和非操本族语英语教师的差异而进行的对比研究引起了西方二语习得专家们的极大兴趣。我们针对外籍英语教师和中国英语教师,在中国数百名在校英语专业四年级大学生中进行了调查。调查表明中国英语教师在很多方面,尤其是在“个人性格特点”、“目的语文化知识”、“语言掌握”、“课堂组织能力”、“实施课堂教学能力”以及“对学生成绩的反馈”等六个方面,要优于他们的外国同行。中国英语教师更有可能成为理想的英语教师,这是因为他们是英语学习的典范、英语元语言知识的专家、教学机构的了解者、中西两种文化的兼容者、正确的教学方法的实施者。
The comparative studies of native English speaker teachers and non-native English speaker teachers have aroused great interest among SLA specialists in the West. We have conducted a tentative survey of Chinese English teachers and foreign English teachers among hundreds of fourth - year university English majors in China. The findings have shown that Chinese English teachers are superior to their foreign counterparts in quite a few aspects, especially, in personal qualities, English culture knowledge, English language command, classroom organization, lecture implementation as well as feedback. The survey also indicates that Chinese English teachers are more likely to become "ideal English teachers", because they are models of English learning, specialists of English meta-lingnistic knowledge, acquaintances of the educational institution, combinations of Chinese and Western cultures, and implementers of proper pedagogical methods.
