摘要
随着2008年奥运会在我国的举办,汉语标识语的英语翻译日显重要。但是经过调查,某市双语标识牌语用失误的现状不容乐观。究其根源,主要原因在于翻译工作者语言功底不扎实,标牌制作者不懂英语等几个方面。
English translation of public signs in Chinese becomes more and more important as Olympic Games of 2008 in Beijing was held. There are many pragmatic failures in bilingual public signs in Anyang city after investigation. One of the major reasons is that the translators don＇ t have good command of language.
