《推背图》是中国民间流传的预言来事的作品,语言简炼,内涵丰富,发人深省。它用图谶、谶言和颂辞的方式,将人物和事件深藏于历史的现实中。正是这种传统的谶谣文学样式,为曹雪芹创作《红楼梦》提供了有益的借鉴。不论是作品的功能性、目的性,或是结构内容,以及制谶的方式、方法,两部作品都有相似之处。因此,有理由认为,《推背图》对《红楼梦》在艺术构思方面的确有非常重要的影响。曹雪芹在构思《红楼梦》时,借鉴了《推背图》中的谶谣方式来预言其作品中众多人物的不幸命运。把谶谣方式引入文学作品,且用故事情节贯穿始终,这的确是一个伟大创举。

Tuibeitu is a Chinese folk- popular prophecy work with simple language, and rich connotation and is indeed thought - provoking. The characters and events are deeply hidden in the reality of history in the form of prophecy and eulogy. This style of traditional prophecy - rhyme work gives some contructive references to the creation of A Dream of Red Massions by Cao Xueqin. The two works are common in function, aim, structure and ways of making prophecies. Therefore we have some reason to believe the former has great influence on the artistic conception of the latter. In conceiving A Dream of Red Massions Cao Xueqin drew some experience from the ways Tui- 5eitu made prophecies. And Cao predicted the ill - fate of the people in the book. It is really a great creation to introduce prophecy into the artistic conception and permeate it through the book with the plots.
