On Advantages and Disadvantages of "Yi" in Water Margin

"义"是兼容古代诸家思想的中国传统文化精神,是《水浒传》的灵魂。《水浒传》中"义"的正面价值和局限性都很明显,它既包含以义揽才以义待才的较合理的用人观念、保持集团内部稳固与平衡的组织优势、辅国安民的崇高目标等正面价值因素,同时也存在界限模糊易变质、忠义两全牺牲义、孕育变相的不平等的局限性。因此,在和谐社会视角下,认识《水浒传》中"义"之实质,构建新型"义"的价值观念至关重要。

＂ Yi＂ （justice）, the traditional cultural spirit which combined various thoughts in ancient times, was the soul of Water Margin. The positive values and limitations of ＂ Yi＂ are apparent and they contain some reasonable ideas of employing people like attacting and treating capable people by ＂Yi＂, and some positive elements of keeping internal stability and balance, and lofty aims to support the state and enable the people to live in pease. There are also some limitations：fuzzy boundary, sacrifice of ＂Yi＂ to satisfy loyalty and conversion of inequali it is of great significance to be aware of the essence of ＂ Yi＂ and to shape a new type of＂ Yi＂ value conception the circumstance of harmonious society.
