Objective To explore the role the head nurse plays in nurses＇ career planning. Method The role that the head nurse plays in nurses＇ career planning and the tasks in different stage of planning management were analyzed. Results The head nurse is one of the most suitable persons to advise, enforce and evaluate nurses＇ career planning.
