The introduction of the advanced concept and practice of information commons （ IC ）, which is a new kind of service model, offers a valuable opportunity for domestic libraries in service innovation. This article takes the library of Shanghai Normal University as example, discusses the difficulties and countermeasures we are facing in domestic IC construction.
