An On-line Gauge for Ash Content of Paper

灰份是衡量纸张质量的重要物理性能指标之一，纸张灰份的在线测量，不仅可以提高测量实时性，而且为纸张灰份的最优化控制创造了条件。本文根据低能量Ｘ射线穿过纸页时的选择吸收特性，详细讨论了纸张灰份在线测量的原理和方法，展示了作者研制的我国第一台纸张灰份在线测量仪。现场运行表明，仪表精度优于±１％，完全符合纸张灰份在线检测和控制的要求，此项研制成果已通过了国家验收鉴定。

狝sh content is one of the important specifications of paper quality. With on-line measurement, the real-time data of ash content can be obtained, and it can be made possible to optimize the ash content at the desired maximum value for economical profits. In this paper, the on-line instrument is described for measuring the ash content which is based on the absorption of soft X-rays from a radioisotope source. Results of the first Chinese paper ash gauge from static and on-line measurements show that an accuracy of ±1% is obtained, which satisfies the on-line measurement and control for papermaking process.
