2008年的韩国造船业可以说是有喜也有忧，喜的是主要经营指标继续稳列世界第一，船舶出口创历史新高；忧的是大部分大型造船企业未能完成年初所制定的接单指标．中小造船企业出现经营困难。
In 2008, ROK shipbuilding industry experienced both good and bad news. The good news was that maj or business indexes continued to perch at the first place globally and ship export hit.a historical high. The bad news was that most of the large shipbuilding enterprises didn＇t realize their plan set at the beginning of 2008 and small ＆ medium shipbuilding enterprises faced more difficulties. So, Korean shipbuilding enterprises refrain from their usual action but show a low profile at the beginning of 2009.
