讨论了编码数据传输中有关同步性的要求和有关异步传输模式的问题；简要介绍了ＡＴＭ适配层（ＡＡＬ）的选择、基于ＡＴＭ的视频服务的各种方案。对三种不同的服务体系：完全集中式，准集中式和完全分布式进行了讨论。尤其是描述了在一种特殊视频点播系统——视频租用系统中数字存储多媒体控制命令（ＤＳＭ－ＣＣ）的影响，并对其产生的网络拥塞也进行了分析。

This paper discusses the synchronization requirements in the transmission of encoded data and the problems of the asynchronous transmission mode,and brietly introduces the selection of the AALs in the ATM and other various schemes of ATMbased video services.We also discuss three service systems.i.e.the wholly concentrated system,the quasiwholly system,and the wholly distributed system.Special treatment is given to a special video request system——the video renting system,the influence of the DSMCC and the network congestion caused by the DSMCC.
