The application of TJ40C series capacitor switching AC contactor in reactive power compensation was introduced. The difference between this series AC contactor and former products was indicated. The working principle and type selection were expounded. The capacity was confirmed via closing current test. This AC contactor is economic and can be replacement of intelligent dynamic reactive power compensation device with high cost to switch capacitors in certain occasion.
