The status in quo of the cooling water system in large equipment in universities, especially the problem of the waste of water resource has been reviewed. The way to improve the design technology of the cooling water system and the necessity of forming the water cycle mechanism is discussed. The countermeasure of saving the water and the energy is suggested.
