The Influences of Cultural Distinctions on English Teaching in Chinese-Foreign Programs

语言与文化密不可分,是文化的载体。中西文化差异对英语教学有诸多方面的影响,包括语音教学、词汇教学、阅读教学等。英语教师应该意识到中西文化差异对学生学习语言造成的影响,适时地进行文化教学,培养学生的跨文化交流意识,培养学生恰当地运用语言进行交流,最终达到进行外语教学的目的。

Language is closely related to culture. It is the carder of culture. Cultural distinctions between Chinese and English usually have various influences on English teaching, including pronunciation, words, reading and so on. English teachers should be fully aware of the influences on students＇ language learning. English teaching should involve cultural aspects so that teachers could develop students＇ intercultural awareness. Thus, the students could properly express themselves in Standard English and communicate well with foreigners and therefore, English teaching object could be well accomplished.
