American postmodernist novels, such as Kurt Vonnegut, Vladimir Nabokov, Thomas Ruggles Pynchon＇s works, inherits the theme of modernism arts,severely criticize the national power and political system of capitalist modernity. At the same time, the religion and the scientific technology were criticized which were restricted by the power of capitalist modernity. In the influences of mass culture,the commercialization of American postmodernist novels partly deconstructs its criticism to the modernity.
