摘要
如何高效地检索与访问现有的各种格式的数据库资源，是Digital Library所必须解决的一个关键性问题。该文介绍了一种由IBM公司开发的基于Web浏览器的中间件Net．Data宏语言的工作原理及其结构，实现了一种高效的跨平台、跨数据库、支持分布式访问技术的Digital Library数据库检索程序。
How to effectively retrieve and access to the different databases is a key problem to Digital Library. The article introduces the working theory and the structure of a middleware Net.Data developed by IBM, thus realizing the retrieval program which is across-platforms, cross-databases and supporting the distributed retrieval.
