Traditional space characteristics of city is the most important component of city＇s historical culture.The article analyses traditional space design from several stages like the constituent element,spatial organization,modality series,etc.It illustrates the basic shape,enclosed confination and dimension scale of tradtional space,also analyses opening and closing,zigzag and bilevel and node symbol for traditional space meanwhile it thiks over false or true,dynamic and quiet,axis,sequence and other problems on traditional space,and discusses the value of tradtional city space characteristics and its renaissance.
