A Historical Review on European Anti- Americanism from a Cultural Perspective

反美主义是一种全球现象,反映了世界其他国家对美国在国际事务中称王称霸的不满,这种不满情绪在欧洲国家更为常见。欧洲的反美主义的理论基础是该地区精英阶层不能认同美国文化的观念,美国大众文化的广泛传播,使欧洲的反美主义具有了抵制"美国化"和维护当地文化认同的深刻含义。因此,欧洲国家的任何反美主义形式,都可以从文化上找到其根源。

Anti-Americanism is a global phenomenon which reflects the dissatisfied feeling of all other countries in the world for American hegemony in international affairs. The feeling is more popular in European countries. European elite has not been able to identify with those ideas in American culture, which is the theoretical basis of European Anti-Americanism. The extensive spread of American popular culture makes European Anti-Americanism have a deep meaning to resist Americanizaion and uphold local cultural identities. Therefore, the origin of any Anti-Americanism form in European countries can be found from culture.
