China at Australian Literature Festivals

中国文学和中国文化进入澳大利亚,文学节是一个重要渠道。澳大利亚的"阿得莱德作家周"、"墨尔本作家节"和"悉尼作家节"等众多的文学节,自20世纪八十年代起,通过邀请中国大陆的作家翻译家和来自海外与澳洲本土的华人华裔作家,并在文学节上推介他们的文学作品,把中国文学和中国文化、历史介绍给了澳大利亚的读者,发挥了两国文化交流的桥梁作用。

Literature Festivals function as a significant channel for Chinese culture and literature to enter into Australia. Since the 1980s, Chinese writers and translators from China Mainland, overseas and inside Australia have been invited to attend a number of Australian literature festivals, such as ＂Adelaide Writers＇ Week＂, ＂Melbourne Writers＇ Festival＂ and ＂Sydney Writers＇ Festival＂, where Chinese literature, culture and history were exposed to Australian readership. These festivals play an important role in bridging Chinese and Australian cultures.
