Notes on the Songshan Mountain Stone Inscription of the Han Dynasty

1978年山东嘉祥宋山出土古墓中发现有汉"永寿三年"石刻题记。石面中间为图案,图案右侧有题记文字10行,图案左侧有题记文字1行。考古者考定此古墓年代为东汉末至西晋之间。是后人把汉人墓中画像石取走,用作自己墓葬建材,所以出土时石刻表面涂满石灰,此石刻文字也并非是出土古墓的题记。由于原石是汉代民间碑刻题记,刻工并非优良,单字结构既不规范,书写又多俗书异体,所以解读歧义在所难免。本文分别从撰文人身份、植柏的风俗、题记的主题以及许安国父子逝世时间这四个方面对汉"永寿三年"石刻题记加以分析讨论。

In 1978 stone inscription was discovered in ancient tombs of the Songshan Mountain in Jianxiang, Shandong. In the middle is the pattern; on the right side there are 10 lines of words, and on the left side one line of words. Archeologists believe that the tomb is between the end of East Han and West Jin. The portrait - stone wars removed later and used by someone else, so the surface of the stone inscription is covered with lime and the words are not for the ancient tomb excavated. Since the original stone is the folk inscription of the Han Dynasty with imperfect skills and irregular character structure, mistakes in interpretation are inevitable. The present article analyzes and discusses the stone inscription in the four aspects of the identity of the author, the custom of tree - planting, the theme of the inscription and the death time of XU An-guo and his son.
