Understanding Historical Literature:Narrative Configuration and Historical Sense

从文史沟通的角度,把历史文学统一到追问生活意义的叙事本体论上,把握历史文学背后的历史意识取向,是理解和评价历史文学的关键。历史文学是叙事塑形艺术的一种,其基本内涵就是既占有史料又参照生活的故事新编和文学书写。历史事实本身已然逝去,"回到过去"的追踪固然可嘉,历史文学也不排斥去占有史料、辨析渊源的基本工作,但更值得注意的是历史文学的书写的立足完全在于当代生活,历史意识是历史文学得以成立的根本。当代中国历史文学的书写在历史意识和当代立场方面存在着不少缺憾,不少作品流于历史主义。

Historical literature is both a kind of narrative configuration and a story--telling that aims to question the meaning of life. Thus, the key to understanding and evaluating historical literature is to investigate its historical awareness from an interdisciplinary perspective. Historical literature makes full use of historical materials that are inevitably configured by contemporary life. Historical sense, therefore, is what makes historical literature possible.
