人文精神是一种主张以人为本,强调人的价值与尊严,寻求人的自由发展与完善,对人类生存的意义与人类的处境无限关怀的思想体系,是人类不断追求自身解放的一种自觉文化精神。人文精神对人类文明、社会进步、国家富强具有巨大的推进作用。以人为本是人文精神和科学发展观共同的核心价值取向,人文精神的缺失有悖以人为本的科学发展理念,坚持和实践以人为本的科学发展观强烈呼吁人文精神回归,重建人文精神就成为历史发展的必然。

Humanistic spirit is an ideology which advocates people-oriented ideas, stresses the value and dignity of people, seeks people＇s freedom to develop and improve, and concerns about the meaning of human existence and human situation. It is a conscious cultural spirit that human beings continue to pursue their own liberation. The humanistic spirit plays an enormous role in pushing forward civilization, social progress and prosperity of the country. People-oriented ideas are core values of both humanistic spirit and scientific development concept. The humanistic spirit missing is contrary to the people-centered scientific development concept. To uphold and practice of people-centered scientific concept of development has a strong appeal to the humanistic spirit＇s return; and the reconstruction of the humanistic spirit has become a historical necessity.
