The purpose of this article is to analyze how Singapore, a developmental state, deals with the economic challenges in order to maintain and grow its economic prosperity. The developmental state concept is the state-centric approach, which affirms that if successful economic and social change is to occur in a policy, an interventionist government is a necessary component to achieve national development. An effective state is a key causal variaty.
