The Architectural Style of Han Dynasty in Nanyang

汉代是我国建筑发展史上的一个重要时期。两汉四百年的相对稳定,经济得到长足发展,帝王将相、达官显贵纷纷修建宫殿、苑囿和宅院。在建筑组合和结构处理上日臻完善,形成了中国民族建筑和独特风格,直接影响了中国两千年来民族建筑的发展。然而至今大多数已不复存在,而保存下来的南阳汉代画像石墓、汉代画像砖墓、汉代建筑陶明器、汉画图像则为研究汉代建筑的结构、风格和功能提供了直观的形象资料。

Abstract： Han Dynasty is a very important period in Chinese architectural history. Because of the four hundred years＇ political stability and economic prosperity of the Western and Eastern Han Dynasties, monarchies and grandees were keen to build palaces, mansions and enclosures for raising animals one after another. Great achievements were made in the design and structure of architectures, and the unique style hence formed directly influenced the development of Chinese architecture for about two thousand years. Unfortunately many of them are no longer in existence now, though the preserved Han Dynasty stone tombs with stone carvings in Nanyang, Han Dynasty brick tombs, Han Dynasty architectural pottery burial articles and pictures of Han Dynasty stone-cravings provide vivid and ohjective materials for our study of the structure, style and functions of the architecture in Han Dynasty.
