扬子地区奥陶系-志留系界线附近地球化学研究 被引量:42

摘要 为了认识奥陶纪-志留纪之交的古海洋环境变化及其对生物绝灭的影响,对扬子地区跨越该界线的桐梓南坝子剖面和宜昌王家湾剖面进行了微量和稀土元素研究.结果表明,扬子地区五峰期和龙马溪期处于缺氧环境,而观音桥期主要为氧化环境.氧化还原环境的波动主要受冰期控制的全球海平面变化影响.全球海平面的下降导致五峰期缺氧环境被观音桥期氧化环境所取代;而随后的海平面上升又导致龙马溪期恢复为缺氧环境.氧化还原环境的变化与生物绝灭事件在地层上相吻合,表明两者之间存在因果关系.
