基于DSP的电源监控器设计

摘要 随着电子系统中电源数量的增加,传统电源监控芯片越来越难以满足现有电子系统的多电源时序控制和管理的功能要求。针对这一问题,文章提出了一种新的解决思路,即利用通用的DSP数字信号控制器来取代传统模拟电源监控芯片,通过合理的固件程序设计,来实现目前电源监控器芯片具有的上电/断电排序、电压监控和裕量调节等功能。同时,利用DSP控制器片内的丰富资源,还可以实现一些功能的扩展,如增加PMBus通讯协议、故障记录和在线升级等功能。与传统用模拟电路来设计电源监控芯片的方法相比,它具有开发周期短、设计方便灵活、可移植性和可扩展性强、系统成本低等优点。 With increasing of the quantity of the power supply in the electrical system, it becomes more and more diffi- cult for the traditional power monitor ICs to meet the requirements of the sequence and voltage control of the multi-power system. In order to overcome this, a new method is introduced to meet the requirements. New power sequence/control IC is designed based on DSP. After proper firmware design, the new IC can not only realize the sequence, voltage monitoring and margining functions, but also gain some advanced features, such as PMBus communication protocol; failure-logging and online upgrade. Comparing with the traditional ICs, the new one has the advantage of short development cycle, converient and flexible design, better portability and low cost.
