2009年3月23日,搜狐IT从消息人士处独家获悉,腾讯已经以400万～500万美元的价格收购生活搜索网站爱帮网。消息人士还透露微软也参与了爱帮网的投资,投资在今年年初已经敲定。业内人士分析,金融危机来临,很多创业企业的估值下降,而腾讯手握大量现金,在这一时机收购一些有技术但短期内没有突破的创业公司非常合适。根据腾讯公布的Q4财报,截至2008年12月31日,腾讯拥有的现金、现金等价物及短期投资约为人民币51.286亿元。而就在3月20日,搜狐IT从可靠消息人士处获悉,腾讯业已收购知名的手机输入法A4输入法。收购爱帮网也有可能给腾讯的搜索技术带来益处。在此之前,由于面临百度、谷歌两大巨头的挑战,腾讯搜索引擎搜搜的市场开拓乏力,通过收购爱帮网,腾讯的搜索引擎技术或会带来优化。
