文化研究是一种高度语境化活动。它要求从特定的具体的社会、历史、民族或政治等语境出发,对文学作品及其中的文化现象做出解读。美国黑人作家独特的生存方式使美国黑人文本呈现出一种和美国文学既相象又不同的"混杂性"特征与"双重声音"。针对这种特征,只有运用文化研究的语境化理论,在关注文本的同时,将黑人文本置于其特定的语境之中进行解读,才能在文本中达到对黑人实际体验的正确理解,并从中透视出黑人文本解释的多种可能性。

Cultural Studies is a hightly eontextualized activity, and it demands interpreting literary texts and their cultural phenomena from the perspective of their specific society, history as well as their national and political contexts. The special living conditions of American black writers make their works qualified with the features of ＂ hybridity＂, a kind of repetition in difference from the mainstream of the white culture and ＂double voices＂. Therefore the best way to interpret the American black literary texts is to make a contextualized study of them based on the theory of Cultural Studios, only in this way can the readers have a good understanding of the black experience and find out the multiplicate possibilities of interpreting American black literary texts.
