英译汉语言特征探讨——基于对应语料库的宏观分析

A Parallel Corpus-based Study of General Features of Translated Chinese

本文基于汉英双向对应语料库,在宏观层面描写和分析英译汉语言的总体特征。作者认为,同汉语原创文本相比,英译汉文本语言的类符/型符比较高,句段偏长;汉语翻译语言扩大了汉语某些结构式的容量。这些特征呈现出英译汉文本语言独有的特征,显示英语源语对汉语译文的影响,翻译共性假说受到一定挑战。

The article reports a study of general features of translated Chinese （ i. e. Chinese language as target language in English- Chinese translated texts）, on the basis of a comparison made between translated and non-translated Chinese texts. The major findings are as follows ： 1 ） Translated Chinese is, unlike what is expected in the original Chinese, higher in type-token ratio, and it uses relatively longer sentence segments ; 2） translated Chinese demonstrates a strong tendency to expand some constructions＇ load capacity, which means it tends to cram into a construction more words than it normally contains. These features, together with other features specific to translated Chinese do not fully support the hypothesis of translation universals ; in fact, much of the difference results from interference of English source language, and it is the interaction between Chinese and English that contributes to the unique features of translated Chinese.
