Investigation into the Relationship between Community Pharmacies and Rational Use of Drugs for Children through Simulated Client Visits

目的:实地调查药店对腹泻患儿自我药疗的服务,探讨其不合理性,找出干预措施,确保患儿药物治疗安全有效。方法:在河北省某市市区,伪装腹泻患儿家长到药店购药,考察店员服务行为,并进行分析。结果:药店店员几乎不建议患儿到医院诊治、不提供购药咨询,提供的少数咨询也不完整或错误,推荐的药品不合理。结论:儿童患病应到医院治疗,药品监督管理部门应加强对药店的管理,制定相关法规制止药店接受对儿童的自我药疗的服务。

Objective ： To observe the courses of providing advice for an assumed diarrheal child by pharmacy assistants, and find solutions and possibilities to ensure rational and correct medications at the community level. Further more, the mortality rate of children under 5 in China could be decreased and the healthy development of children could be safeguarded in a sense. Method： All the community pharmacies in the urban district of an anonymous city in the middle part of Hebei province were visited and the service offered by a pharmacy assistant to a simulating father of an assumed small diarrheal girl was investigated. Result： The researcher found that the assistants provided incorrect medications and poor drug information, a few advices provided were incorrect or imperfect. Conclusion： This result of the research and many related documents indicate that parents should not buy drugs in community pharmacies for their sick children; instead, they should refer them to hospitals. The government should work out some regulations to stop services for sick children provided by community pharmacies.
