Probe into Problems of the Library Reference Work in the Network Environment

通过对部分关于图书馆如何开展网络环境下新型参考咨询工作论文中的主要观点进行摘录与简单分析,提出图书馆开展新型参考咨询工作应立足于知识型数据库的建设,而不是将大量的人力投入直接面对网络用户的咨询"回答"工作,馆员的主要任务是建设数据库、维护数据库,充分发挥、利用计算机强大的综合检索能力为读者提供参考咨询服务。

Based on extracts and a simple analysis about the main points drawn from the papers on how libraries develop newly typed reference work under the net- work environment, this article proposed that libraries developing newly typed reference work should be based on the construction of knowledge - based database, rather than ＂answer＂ work directly facing network users. Librarian＇ s main task is to build the database and maintain the database, and make full use of powerful computer integrated retrieval capabilities to provide reference service.
