Since its publication in 2005, Water Dragon, a very readable and meaningful novel by Wang Yu, a Chongqing writer, has cast an extensive influence on readers. Making use of narrative theories,the writer of this article ：nakes an overall analysis of the novel. Based on its borrowing and development of traditional chapter novels and its panoramic display of Chongqing＇ s local folk culture, this article also analyzes the loss and gain of the writing, digging out the multi-enchantments of the novel and exploring the reasons why the novel is so favored by readers.
