It is well known that Virginia Woolf＇s works are featured in stream of consciousness, which helps to expose the innermost thoughts of the characters. But with its complexity and incoherence, this kind of novels in one way or another causes a lot of troubles or even confusion on the part of the readers. Focusing on the linguistic forms of Virginia Woolf＇s short story A Haunted House, this paper takes anaphora as a research topic and attempts to offer a brand-new perspective for the explanation of the novel＇s obscurity by analyzing the anaphoric features of the story.
