本文对上海南京东路商业步行街的设计作了详细介绍,首先对这条百年老街的历史作一回顾,随后从功能、规划意念、空间形态、路面设计、交通组织诸方面介绍了南京东路改造的构思。
The commercial street of Nanjing East Road,Shanghai,with a history of over 170 years,is known as 'No. I Street of China'. It has indisputable advantages over all other streets in China, whether in business scale, customer flow, commercial achievement, profusion of goods or services. In the 1980s, Nanjing Road was found to be superannuated, congested and lacking of greenery and therefore commanded revamping. By the 90s,as Shanghai once again became the locomotive of China's economic development, with the influx of huge development fund, a second peak of development marked by the emergence of a chain of commercial mansions showed up on Nanjing Road. The street now enjoys unprecedented prosperity, with an average customer flow of 800, 000 to 1 million per day/time. To bring the shopping environment into perfection, authorities concerned are planning to convert the street into a pedestrian street providing full-day service.The planned street will be 1. 9 km long. The idea is to build a three-dimensional commercial pedestriannetwork, providing open spaces in the most concentrated sections by setting up squares of various sizes coupled with greenery. In addition, the historical and cultural outlooks of the street shall be maintained at the best. The height, colour, form and style of new buildings shall be well monitored.
