Coupling beams are very important elements in the shear wall structure and frame-shear wall structure to achieve second shock resistance,and the over reinforced in the coupling beam is very common.Working and failure mechanism of coupling beams are discussed in the paper,design methods are analyzed,and as to put forward the mathod to sovle the problem.。
