Preparation and Flame Retardancy of Polyborosiloxane

摘要 合成了聚硅硼氧烷阻燃剂,并研究了聚硅硼氧烷的分子结构对其阻燃性能的影响,应用热分析(TGA)研究了PC/聚硅硼氧烷复合体系的热降解过程。具有线形结构Si-O链且有机侧基既有苯基又有甲基的聚硅硼氧烷的阻燃性能最好,在PC中添加质量分数5%的这种聚硅硼氧烷能使PC的LOI(LimitedOxygenIndex)从26%提高到41%。研究发现,在PC中添加聚硅硼氧烷可促进PC复合材料在燃烧过程中炭层的形成,然而,PC/聚硅硼氧烷LOI值的变化趋势与其热降解残渣量的变化趋势不完全一致,热降解残渣量最高的样品,其LOI值并不是最高的。 Polyborosiloxanes were synthesized and the effect of their structure on the flame retardancy was studied. The thermal degradation of the polycarbonate (PC)/polyborosiloxane blend was investigated by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The polyborosiloxane with linear Si-O chain and phenyl/methyl side group possesses the best flame retardancy. By adding 5 wt% of the polyborosiloxane to PC, the LOI (Limited Oxygen Index) of the PC increase from 26% to 41%. It is found that the addition of the polyborosiloxane can promote the formation of char during the PC blend combustion. Nevertheless, the change of the LOI value of the PC/polyborosiloxane blends is inconsistent with the change of the amount of their thermal degradation residues. The sample with the highest solid residue does not necessarily give the highest LOI.
