摘要
本文通过分析英国文学史上第一部英语诗歌(《坎特伯雷故事》)节选中的语法和词汇,探讨了中古英语某些语法的变化,包括名词的单复数形式、形容词的平级和最高级形式、指示代词和人称代词的变化、动词的强变化与弱变化的改变、语法中性别的消失、词汇中古英语单词的消失以及大量的拉丁词和法语单词的引进等,同时说明了变化的特点。
This paper discussed the characteristics of the Middle English grammar through analysis of except of The Canterbury Tales written by the English poet Geoffrey Chaucer, with a special emphasis on the changes of the language, including the singular and plural form of nouns, the forms of adjectives, the changes of demonstrative pronouns and personal pronouns, the disappearance of gender and Old English words, and the assimilation of the vocabulary from Latin and French.
