摘要
作为菲尔丁的代表作,《汤姆.琼斯》从创作主旨、立意结构、人物性格,到语言特色都受到了《圣经》的深远影响。本文旨在以长子名分的传承这一主要矛盾作为切入点,从传承人的品性,获得传承的方式和获得传承的必备条件等三大方面进行类比分析,从而论证菲尔丁的创作理念是圣经教义的体现。
As Fielding's masterpiece,The History of Tom Jones,a Foundling has extensively found in the Bible its literary sources and influences.As a source,the Bible has provided this book with plot elements and characters.As an influence,the language,themes,and imagery of the Bible have been woven into Fielding's writing.Focusing on the approval of the First-Born Son and the inheritance of Father's heritage,this paper aims to analyze the biblical influence on the motif about the selection of the Heir of Grace via analogies on the following three major aspects:the virtues of the heir,the way of inheriting and the requirements of the anointed heir.
