语言潜势与系统层级制约及体现的关系

Language Potential and the Relation of Restriction and Realization Between Systemic Strata

功能语言学已超越语言本体研究,把语言看作人类行为,涉及语言潜势的诸多识解过程。本文分析了语言潜势的下行/上行循环递归运动,论证了上行运动的体现功能并非下行功能的同义反复。在此基础上,提出层级下行运作制约言语行为,层级上行运作体现语言行为的语言潜势系统概念框架,以求构建语言潜势系统的双向运作网络机制,并尝试对系统功能语言学在综论语言潜势与语言系统方面尚存之不足作出理论探讨及补充。

The language potential system,which represents the natural selections and human choices,can be characterized into different processes of construing experience through meaning. Based on the analysis of the recursive downward and upward movement in terms of the three layers of language potentials,this paper reveals that the bi-direction movement is both recursive and recyclable,and that one direction-movement does not function as a tautology of the other because the stratal downward trend restricts the formation of a text,while the stratal upward one realizes the social semiotic system of language behavior. The dual functions of this bi-direction movement delineates the process of how language potentials interweave the linguistic system,and the research holds that the conceptual framework of language potential system elicited in this paper can add a fresh approach to exploring the undetermined relationship between language potential and linguistic system.
