媒介教育能够帮助学生明智地、批判性地解读大众媒介的本质、媒介常用的手法及这些手法所产生的效果。媒介教育的目的是理解媒介产业、对媒介信息进行解码和编码、媒介制作、欣赏与自我超越。媒介教育不仅需要良好的信息传播技术环境,而且需要良好的政策环境,以及一大批献身于媒介教育事业的有识之士。媒介教育要想健康发展必须定位准确,对有关教育力量要科学整合和组织,以及对预期的行动过程进行科学规划。

Media education can help students sensibly and critically read the mass media's essence,common usages of media as well as their results. It has four goals which are understanding media industry,decoding and encoding media messages,media production and appreciation and transcending oneself. It not only needs good information communication environment,but also good policy settings and a great number of holy media education workers. It must be scientifically oriented,all the media educational power must be scientifically integrated and organized,and the expecting process must be scientifically planned in order to keep healthy development.
