The China-India comparison has grabbed the attention of overseas scholars in recent years.The importance of this article is that,in addition to comparing Chinese and Indian economies in terms of economic growth rate,economic size,financial system,social development benchmark and infrastructure,etc.,the author also carries out an in.depth analysis of China’s and India’s rapid economic growth sustainability-which is the most important evidence to be considered in judging whether India can overtake China. More significantly,the author analyzes the economic meaning of the China-India economic comparison from a broader macro-perspective:is software infrastructure or hardware infrastructure the core driver of economic growth in developing countries? What kind of government is more conducive to the economic growth of post-developing counties? What kind of political system is more favourable to economic growth?
