摘要重点梳理了14-16世纪意大利农业经济的兴起与衰落,通过农业兴起的原因、表现及其衰落的过程,阐释了意大利农业在时欧洲的重要地位。并进一步指出:意大利资本主义萌芽之所以最后夭折,主要原因在于16世纪农业的衰落所至,从而揭示了意大利虽然是资本主义的诞生地,但却没有率先步入工业化大门的真实原因。
