艺术教育是实施美育的主要途径,音乐教育做为艺术教育的有机组成部分,它既是素质教育的内容,也是实施素质教育的手段。本文对音乐教育在美育、德育、智育、体育几方面功能的阐述,说明在普通高校普及音乐教育是十分必要的。

Artistic education is the main approach to realize aesthetic education.Musical education,being as a part of artistic education,is not only the content of Essential-Quality-Oriented Education,but also the way to realize it.By interpreting functions of musical education on moral,intellectual,physical and aesthetic education,this essay concludes that it is necessary to popularize musical education in general higher education institutions.
