试论大学英语教材翻译的几个误区

关于教材,尤其是大学英语教材翻译的研究很少,但非英语专业的学生使用英语教材译文有特殊的、明确的目的。为了满足他们的学习需求,大学英语教材的翻译应尽量采用准确的、文从句顺的直译,避免误译、搭配不当、欠额翻译、超额翻译等问题,从语言风格上看,应避免以辞害意。

Currently, there is insufficient research done on translation materials used the textbooks of College English. Nevertheless, a number of requirements, resulting from the usage of these materials by students majoring in non-English disciplines, has lead to the necessity to adopt accurate, fluent and natural literal translations, whenever possible. This necessity focuses on taking into consideration the acceptability of Chinese collocations, and on avoiding beautifying the language at the expense of meaning, in addition to avoiding mistranslation, zero translation, under-translation, over- translation, etc.
