This paper stresses on the importance of developing inter-cultural communication consciousness and competence of students. What is inter-cultural communication consciousness and what is inter-cultural communication competence are expounded separately .In dealing with foreign language teaching, several ways are raised on how to develop the students ’inter-cultural communication competence .
