In modern American cities,neighborhood governance has brought into being a network composed of governments,private sectors and non-profit organizations.Since the mid-20th century,in the process of implementing series of the federal government's urban policies,the neighborhood organizations have grown with the participation of urban residents.Such organizations have played a key role in governing the community and become a major force in revitalizing the democratic tradition,gathering resources from governments and the society,and improving social-economic conditions and public services for communities.
