This paper introduces the characteristics of GIS,analyzes the factors,sush as the installment,equipment structure,gas pressure,bathtube insulator and operation and so on,which initiate faults.,introduces off-line and on-line monitor diagnosis of exterior diagnosis,monitor the project diagnosis process and items needing attention and so on,and also proposes the two methods joint utilization.
